It’s Happening Again: Microsoft Fires 4800 Jobs!

The inevitable is happening again as Microsoft has completed a new round of layoffs within the company. The leading software giant has reportedly fired more than 4,800 employees in a single day today.

Most affected roles are in commercial sales and the Xbox division, which will see 8 percent of its staff eliminated today with plans to cut 15 percent total by year-end.

As we had reported already, this is going to be roughly 2.1-2.5% of global workforce of Microsoft and the company is not going to slow down in the near future either. There could be more such significant layoffs in the company in the near future as well.

It is being established by leading company that Microsoft is cutting thousands of jobs, affecting around 2.5% of its 220,000 workforce with sales, consulting and Xbox among the areas hit. The move follows earlier cuts as Microsoft keeps spending heavily on AI infrastructure.

The AI infrastructure alignment is starting to affect the human workforce and we are witnessing the shift in paradigm now actively. More layoffs are likely to take force in the next few months.
