Passport Cancellation Warning for Violence in CJP Protests?

In a stern warning, Delhi Police reportedly stated that those involved in violence during the CJP protests may face cancellation of their passports. If people are found to have been directly involved in physical attacks and violent incidents during the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, they could face passport cancellation.

CCTV, AI Cameras Used to Identify Suspects

According to reports, police authorities are identifying those involved in the clashes using CCTV footage, AI-enabled cameras, video recordings, and other technical evidence.

Officials said strict action will be taken against individuals found attacking police personnel or damaging government property. Officials added that suspects will be arrested after verification of their criminal records. They also assured that the identities of people assisting the investigation would remain confidential.

Investigators are also examining videos shared on social media, along with recordings made by police personnel, to reconstruct the sequence of events.

So far, police have registered 10 FIRs, four at Parliament Street Police Station, three at Connaught Place Police Station, and one each at Mandir Marg, Barakhamba, and Kartavya Path police stations.

The cases include charges related to rioting, assault on public servants, obstructing government officials from discharging their duties, damaging public property, criminal conspiracy, and offences under the Arms Act and the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act. Police have not yet disclosed the number of arrests made.

Meanwhile, Delhi police have appealed to protesters gathered at Jantar Mantar not to spread or believe rumours or unverified information.
