Trainee IPS Uday Krishna Reddy Finally Arrested

IPS trainee Uday Krishna Reddy, who was allegedly absconding from the past couple of days, has reportedly been arrested and taken into custody by Hyderabad police today evening in connection with the sexual harassment complaint filed by his fellow IPS trainee.

Uday was produced before a court this evening after his arrest and was granted to be in police custody for further investigation. It is a known fact that Uday has been facing serious allegations of stalking, assault, criminal intimidation and secretly recording a private video without consent by a lady trainee at the Sardar Vallabhai Police Academy in Hyderabad.

As soon as the complaint was filed in Attapur police station, Uday attempted to commit suicide and was admitted to hospital. However, it was later found that he consumed too much alcohol. A note in which Uday categorically denied all allegations was later retrieved from his room. He was discharged from the hospital, but went missing for a couple of days to evade arrest.

According to the police, Uday Krishna Reddy did not appear for questioning after notices were issued to him. His phone was switched off, and police teams could not find him at the addresses given by him. After the Telangana High Court refused to give him interim protection from arrest, the police launched a search and finally took him into custody.

The National Police Academy had earlier suspended Uday Krishna Reddy after a preliminary inquiry.

The case has drawn attention across the country because it involves two IPS trainee officers. While the complainant has accused Uday Krishna Reddy of serious offences, he has maintained that he is innocent and said he will cooperate with the investigation..
