The evolution of artificial intelligence globally has been beyond measure in the last few years, and this is going to be particularly prevalent in the days to follow as well.
Now we have very interesting case where an AI model that was developed to be the boss of tech company has taken a pretty big decision with regard to human workforce.
In San Francisco, AI manager called Luna, built on Claude models, was put in charge of Andon Market as part of an experiment and ultimately decided to fire an employee who had been late for 17 out of 23 shifts.
Interestingly, the AI proved far more lenient than a typical boss as it initially suggested a formal warning and only moved to dismissal after additional prompting from the project team.
This was more of a logical and statistical decision taken by the AI model to a human employee, and it is not a cause of panic as yet.
But the fact that AI models are now in a position to dictate the potential employment of human workforce and also debate their working conditions as a point of concern. This job was almost exclusively held back for human managers till now, but things are starting to change drastically now.
