Telugu Pilgrims Out Of Danger In Nepal Floods

A ravaging flash flood has struck some parts of Nepal on Wednesday, leaving at least 95 dead and hundreds stranded. Among those who are trapped in the disaster include pilgrims from Hyderabad. Luckily, these Telugu tourists are now out of danger and awaiting rescue operations.

According to reliable sources, over 150 pilgrims from Hyderabad were visiting the Kailash Manasarovar region when unexpected severe flooding disrupted local roads and transportation routes. All these pilgrims went to Nepal through private tourist operators. Though the whereabouts of these tourists was not initially known, they are finally contacted and said to be safe.

Among the travelers is a family from Adoni in Kurnool district, who reached Nepal earlier this month. While most members of the tour group proceeded with the pilgrimage circuit, 16 individuals stayed behind at Darsing near the China border after falling unwell. This decision made them escape the nature fury.

They are now said to be moved to a safe place and arrangements are being made for evacuation. Also, there are tens of pilgrims from neighbouring Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states who are missing in the flash floods.

The Bhote Kosi river has wrecked havoc through the border villages and left thousands homeless. Still, more than 400 including foreign nationals are missing. Many Indians are still cannot be traced due to lack of communication.

Local leaders and officials have stepped in to offer support to the worried families back home. Assistance efforts are being coordinated with central and state authorities to clear transit routes and organize safe transport for all stranded tourists.
