Happening stand-up comedian and YouTuber Samay Raina landed in a fresh trouble again over his irresponsible and unwarranted comments during a show. Though he recently got a reprieve from the Supreme Court over his insensitive comments on persons with disabilities, Samay seems to have not learnt from his past mistakes.
During a recent episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2, he and fellow comedian Sharon Verma made jokes about each other’s home states. While Raina mocked Bihari workers migrating for jobs, Verma made a joke referencing the forced exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s.
The Clips of this exchange quickly went viral and resulted in strong outrage online, drawing sharp criticism from the public. Political leaders across party lines condemned the remarks, stating that mocking regional struggles, migration, and community tragedies crosses the line of decency for cheap publicity.
This is not the first time Samay Raina has faced public anger for his derogatory comments. In early 2025, his show was hit with police cases and taken down after a guest made highly inappropriate jokes about family relationships.
Before that, he faced online backlash over offensive posts about abortion and past episodes that mocked disabled people, mocked rape protests, or made derogatory remarks about specific Indian states. The Supreme Court fined him and later quashed a criminal petition considering his bright future.
Despite getting a second chance to rebuild his career after major legal trouble, Raina seems to be repeating his old mistakes.
