More than two and years after the historical consecration ceremony, the famous Ayodhya Ram Mandir has got its first Chief Executive Officer in the form of retired Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra from Uttar Pradesh.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which governs the administrative functions of the shrine has announced the CEO today afternoon after a detailed selection process handled by an expert panel. Over 5,500 candidates applied for the role, and the panel finalised the CEO through evaluation and final interviews.
Air Marshal Mishra has an unblemished service record for 4 decades in the Indian Air Force and served as the Chief of its Western Command during Operation Sindoor last year. He retired in May this year.
Along with the new chief executive, the trust has added three new members to its board, including advocate Madan Mohan Pandey, businessman Mahesh Bhagchandka, and social worker Nirmala Yadav.
Interestingly, the appointment comes at a time when the administration has been facing serious allegations over embezzlement of temple funds and various financial irregularities that have triggered widespread outrage from the public. This development is seen as a crucial step to overhaul the administrative structure in all aspects.
Ever since the Pran Pratishta was done in January 2024, the temple has witnessed a rapid growth in its overall functioning and required operational competence to make sure that the sanctity is not compromised. So, this appointment should bring the much needed transparency and also restore the faith of devotees.
