Even when there is zero tolerance for rapes in India, there is a frequent recurrence of such incidents across the country. What is more shocking is that the national capital accounts for majority of these cases.
In another similar instance, a minor girl was gangraped and killed by four people a few days ago. Police officials started searching for the victim after her family members reported that she went missing from her house.
Local authorities tracked CCTV camera footage from surrounding streets which helped them locate the victim body in a secluded empty plot. After investigating the several cameras, the police have apprehended four individuals.
According to police officers, the suspects lured the young victim to an isolated jungle area behind Swaroop Nagar under false promises. The accused persons sexually assaulted her one by one before strangling her to death to prevent her from telling anyone.
To hide their crime, they abandoned her body in the bushes and fled from the spot immediately. When police officers located the abandoned body during their search operation, they found it was in a heavily damaged state as stray dogs had eaten parts of it.
