AP Woman From UK Escapes Quarantine; Caught In Train

The UK strain of Covid-19 is creating a panic all over the globe. Amidst this many countries have banned travel to the UK and India too has done it. Until the other day, the Indian government has tested all the travellers who returned from the UK and even put them in quarantine.

However in a shocking incident a woman who hails from Andhra and returned from the UK, tested positive for the virus. She was put in quarantine in New Delhi. But the lady escaped and boarded a train to Vizag and learning about this missing woman, the authorities launched a hunt. Finally she was caught in Rajahmundry and was taken into government quarantine. Her samples are again taken and sent to Pune’ Virology lab.

This is really pure negligence. The woman might have contracted the virus to many people by now and despite many initiatives, there is no change in the attitude of people.

Meanwhile in Telangana, the health authorities are on high alert. They are tracking the people who returned from the UK in the last couple of weeks. Just from Karimnagar district, there are about 16 people returned from the UK and once their addresses are traced, their samples will be collected.

In Warangal, there are 45 people with a travel history in the UK.
