In a shocking thing of sorts, an industrialist got miffed when his guest spilt wine on his sofa during a party. As that happens to be a very costly sofa, the industrialist has now sent a legal notice asking to pay Rs 2.13 lakhs, the amount incurred to repair the sofa. Here comes the interesting snippet.
A Mumbai based industrialist Sanjay Jindal has other day sent a legal notice to actress and entrepreneur Pinky Harwani for spilling red wine on his couch. Recently when Sanjay hosted a house-warming party for his friends and other guests, Pinky also attended it and is said to have spilt red wine on the imported sofa which costs a bomb. Enraged by the act, Sanjay has now sent a legal notice demanding the money to get his sofa upholstered.
While some say that the industrialist is over-reacting as these types of things including bumping into tables, spilling wine and breaking glasses are common things at parties, some etiquette experts say that even in Western culture, spilling wine is considered as a murder. They say that Pinky should accept an immediate apology and bear the charges to repair the sofa.
Well, the next time you go to any big party, be careful with that drink you’re holding.
