While 1000 victims fell unconscious and sick due to the massive gas leakage at LG Polymers Plant at RR Venkatapuram in Vizag. And the death toll stood at 9, according to state officials.
One of the victims who succumbed to this tragedy is a 19-year old MBBS student named Chandramouli. The young and brilliant medical student is pursuing his first year of MBBS at Andhra Medical College. Tragically, Chandramouli was short of adequate oxygen to breathe in the midnight, when gas leaked from LG Polymers plant. Having seen their son falling to death right infront of them, his parents are in deep grief.
Now, the gas leakage is under control and government is providing treatment, via public and private hospitals, for those who’re suffering from breathing problems caused by the leaked gas. While 316 people are admitted in hospitals, the tragic accident also killed a 5-year old girl and a 9-year old girl. AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, who rushed to Vizag, had visited KG Hospital and interacted with patients and medical staff.
DG Goutam Sawang said that NDRF team and police officials have evacuated some 250 households in the villages neat to the gas plant.
