Here Are The Expected Executive Actions By Biden On Day One

It is a historic day as it will witness the disrepute outgoing president and welcome of the incoming president in the US. The last few days were more aggressive and with twists than the last four years in Trump’s term as president. Donald Trump released a boasting farewell speech yesterday wherein he claimed the accomplishments and took responsibility for none of the bad decisions nor the US Capitol attacks and pandemic deaths.

That page is now to be turned into past in few hours officially, the country and the world is keen on what the new president Joe Biden is planning to bring on as the first-day executive decisions. As the new commander-in-chief, Joe Biden is expected to sign more than a dozen executive actions and let us see what they could be.

Biden will be swearing-in as the 46th president of the United States of America at 12 pm today, he will be starting his work by reversing many decisions made by the Trump administration. There will be 17 executive actions and 15 of them will be executive orders. 9 of them total are directly reversing the policies by Donald Trump.

Coronavirus

  • Biden will be launching a 100 days Masking Challenge. It requires the US people to wear masks for 100 days and maintain physical distancing in federal buildings, on federal lands, and by government contractors. The action also seeks the local governments to follow it.
  • Join back in the World Health organization with Dr. Anthony Fauci as the head of the delegation.
  • A position for Covid-19 Response Coordinator will be created, reporting directly to the President in regard to vaccine distribution and medical equipment.

Economy

  • Nationwide moratorium extension on evictions and foreclosures until March-end.
  • Pause on student loan payments and interest for Americans, extended until September end.

Equity

  • Prevention of Workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity
  • Directs agencies to reviews actions to make sure the racial equity

Immigration

  • Revoke Trump’s restriction order on US entry for passport holders from seven Muslim-majority countries.
  • Revoke Trump’s expansion of immigrant enforcement within the US.
  • Mexican Wall construction to be halted. Terminate the national emergency declaration funding.
  • Extend deferrals of deportation and work authorizations for Liberians with a safe haven in the US until June 2022.

Fortify DACA to bring the protection back for undocumented people brought into the country as children.

Environment

  • To rejoin the Paris climate accord
  • Keystone XL pipeline cancellation and also look into Trump’s 100 other actions on the environment.
