British Actress Get Rape Threats For Supporting Farmers’ Protest

British Model Jameela Jamil, who is best known as body positivity advocate, actor, and radio presenter shared a long yet disturbing note on her Instagram that she has been receiving death and rape threats every time she voiced her opinion/extended support to the ongoing farmers’ protest in India.

As we know, multiple bigwigs across the globe raise the voices on the issue and Jameela Jamil is one such celebrity who joined the league very long back. Now that she has been receiving unacceptable threats is nothing short of an illegal criminal assault. She brought the information to her massive 3 million followers on social media, and clarified that she will not keep calm and will continue supporting farmers.

“I have repeatedly spoken about the farmers in India over the past few months and what is happening there at the moment, but each time I do I am met with death and rape threats”. She adds, “So while you are pressurising me in my DMs please keep in mind that I am a human being who has some limitations as to what I can handle. I do, however, maintain my solidarity is of course with the farmers in India and everyone fighting for their rights during this protest.”

Her note further reads – “I hope you are also pressuring the men to speak on this subject too as they are far less likely to be attacked the way women in the public eye are. To everyone reading this. As I’ve asked many times before, please read about what’s happening.”

For the unversed, Jameela is quite famous for her role in the NBC fantasy comedy series ‘The Good Place’ and host of the TBS late-night game show in ‘The Misery Index’. Now that she received some disturbing and nasty threats, fans are quite upset with the whole issue.
