‘Deepika Is An Inspiration To Many Girls’

Miss India 2017 Manushi Chillar, who is now going to take a grand plunge into Bollywood, spoke about her debut film ‘Prithviraj’. It is a historical drama and Manushi will be seen opposite superstar Akshay Kumar. And, the actor will essay the title role of Prithviraj Chauhan. Since her film is going to release during Diwali 2021, Manushi recalled how the beautiful actress, Deepika Padukone also made her debut, ‘Om Shanti Om’, during Diwali, in 2007.

Manushi compared her career start with ace actress Deepika and said that she feels fortunate to have a beginning like hers. Calling Deepika as her inspiration, Manushi said “I’m getting a Diwali debut similar to the debut Deepika Padukone got with Om Shanti Om and I can only consider myself fortunate. Deepika is someone many girls look up to and is an inspiration to many”.

Films released during Diwali in India has a special advantage since holidays give an upsurge in business. Also, the explosive fights at the box office take place during this time. Manushi also recalled how she used to go to theatres to watch a movie during Diwali. “It was evident to us that one of the biggest films of the year would be released on Diwali and (watching films) was a community viewing exercise. Today, as my film has been slated for a Diwali release, I can only be grateful that I’m getting this launch by YRF,” said Manushi.

She later added that she worked really hard for Prithviraj.” I worked consistently over a year for the film. So, I’m quite eager for my film to do well and hopefully for people to love it,” she said. However, she is crystal clear in her mind that she is not expecting high or get praises for the accomplishment. “Honestly, I’m not over-burdening myself with expectations. I want to enjoy the release of my first film and cherish every step,” she said. Directed by Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj has been scheduled for a release on November 5.
