The price of Covid vaccines has been fixed at Rs.250 per dose by the Union Government. The vaccine would be available at private hospitals for people above 60 years of age and those above 45 years of age with comorbidities.
The vaccinations will commence on March 1. The price also includes Rs 100 service charge, said the Central government. It is further decided by National Health Mission that people will be vaccinated free of cost at the government hospitals. The information has been forwarded to all the states and union territories.
This is the third phase of vaccination being given after vaccinating healthcare and frontline workers and the phase will cover 27 crore of people at 10,000 government and over 20,000 private vaccination centres. During vaccination, people are ought to show a photo ID document for proof of age and a certificate of co-morbidity if needed.
