The weddings in India have been witnessing innovative safety measures in these Corona times. With lavish weddings with hundreds and thousands of guests ruled out due to the lockdown restrictions, even the limited number of guests who attend weddings must wear masks and sanitize their hands at the venue.
Even in these grim situations, some affluent families in Karnataka are going the extra mile to make their weddings look pompous. Several filthy rich Kannadigas are distributing not the regular surgical masks but designer masks made of silver to their guests at weddings.
Each silver mask costs anywhere between Rs 2,500 to 3,000 and there is a high demand for these masks in cities like Belgavi and Chikkodi. Thanks to this newfound craze, mask makers and goldsmiths are finding some employment in these trying times.
