Watch: A Teary Moment For Pandya Brothers

Published by

Team India has won the first ODI against England by 66 runs played at Pune. This ODI marked the debut of Krunal Pandya and Prasidh Krishna in international cricket and both delivered a noteworthy performance on their first game.

Prasidh Krishna claimed four wickets while Krunal Pandya scored a half century and even picked a wicket. However, it was a teary moment for Krunal and during the innings break, he could not control his tears and hugged his brother Hardik Pandya.

In January, Krunal and Hardik’s father Himanshu Pandya passed away due to a cardiac arrest. The Pandya brothers recovered from their personal loss and returned to their work space. And the elder Pandya who has been consistent in T20, was awaiting for an ODI call. When he got for the England series, it debuted with the first game.

Team India was in need of runs when Krunal stepped into the crease. He scored an unbeaten 58 of 31 balls. Post bringing up his half century, Krunal looked at the sky and dedicated it to his father while Hardik who was at the dugout, stood up and appreciated his brother’s terrific knock.
