Actress Sameera Reddy, who often speaks on body image issues and bullies pertinent to it, recalled her old memories associated with beauty pressure back in her career days. The actress posted a video, compiling a few of her memories from her career and posted it on Instagram.
The video comprises pictures from her career days where she was drenched in a lot of makeup along with her recent pictures after she became a mother of two. “From padded bras, coloured contact lenses, airbrushed, enhanced perfect pictures…to today’s pure freedom to be myself. No judgement…no pressure…Just me…#transformation #redefined #messymama #imperfectlyperfect #throwback #keepingitreal,” Sameera captioned the video.
As a celebrity, being scrutinised for every move is pretty common. And Sameera blew the lid wide open on many taboo subjects with body issues being one of them. The now pictures of Sameera in a video shows her real self and a natural look, and it is indeed brave of her to compare her own images in the public domain.
In a spirit of solidarity, it looked like Sameera spoke her heart out for all the female stars out there who had to go through a lot of pressure on a daily basis just to look perfect. Sameera’s mother-in-law Manjri Varde also left the sweetest comment on the video – “The then of the then is superlative but the now of the now has two cherries on the cake. So maybe I’m loving the cherries.” Netizens also praised the actress for speaking the harsh truth.
