In Pics: #MahaWeekendLockdown

India’s economic capital, Mumbai witnessed a deserted look on Saturday with the state government imposing a weekend lockdown in view of growing Covid-19 cases. This whole of April, the state will be observing lockdown during the weekends while the state government hopes that the influence of virus will come down.

From Marine Drive to streets near Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and headquarters of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), all the major roads in the city are completely empty.

In the last 24 hours, Mumbai city reported 9200 new positive cases and 35 deaths. Coming to the whole country another biggest spike is reported in the last 24 hours. 1,45,384 cases are reported while 794 people have died.

The total active cases crossed the 10 Lakh mark. Currently the active cases count is 10,46,631 and the death count is 1,68,436.

The Covid vaccine has been administered to  9,80,75,160 people (Including first and second doses) so far.
