Keeping the call of duty above all, a five-month pregnant Deputy Superintendent of Police, Shilpa Sahu was spotted working tirelessly on Covid19 frontline, ensuring that people wear masks and don’t wander unnecessarily on roads during the lockdown. She was seen along with her team, standing on streets in sweltering temperature and performing duties just to make sure that no lockdown restriction is violated.

The pictures and videos of her standing in Maoist-infested town, Dantewada, and working in scorching heat while pregnant won everyone’s hearts on social media and she is all over the headlines on inspiration notes. The video of hers on Twitter shows how Shilpa Sahu is ensuring the traffic rules abidance, despite her pregnancy and especially when it is not safe for pregnant women to go out amid the coronavirus spread.

Her determination and sedulous efforts have been highly appreciated and admired by people across the nation. One user labelled her as ‘Nation before self’ spirit’. One more comment read as ‘we are safe in the houses while she’s on streets working for our well-being’. ‘Salute to DSP Shilpa Sahu Ji,’ comes another comment. India recorded nearly 2,59,170 new cases within the last 24 hours, and close to 1,761 fatalities were reported.  Many states including Telangana have imposed night curfews in order to prevent the healthcare system from a collapse.
