Covid-19: Daily Cases Below 3 Lakh; First In A Month

India is reporting a downward trend in daily cases and in the last 24 hours, 2,76,110 new infections have been recorded. For the first time in almost a month, India reported below three lakh cases. The total tally of the viral infection now stands at 2,57,72,440.

3,874 deaths have been posted in the last 24 hours and India’s total Covid-19 death tally is at 2,87,122. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu states have contributed over 34,000 new cases each while Kerala added over 32,000 new cases. The active cases count is also dropping and currently they are at 31.29 Lakh.

But India is lagging behind vaccination. So far 18,70,09,792 people have received the vaccine job. The Union Health minister added that 51 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses will be made available by July and 216 crore more between August and December. And overall India will procure 267 crore Covid vaccine doses by the end of this year.
