Due to the lockdown and restrictions, there has been a huge rise in food deliveries. However, delivery partners (boys) are getting infected for the virus due to travel. In order to secure their delivery partners, popular food delivery chains, Swiggy and Zomato have announced free vaccination to all delivery boys.
Keeping their word, both Swiggy and Zomato have carried out vaccination drive in selected cities. Swiggy vaccinated their delivery agents in Bengaluru while Zomato in New Delhi. Zomato will commence vaccination in Mumbai and Bengaluru cities from tomorrow.
“We’re happy to announce that we kicked-off our vaccination drive for our delivery fleet, kitchen staff and other frontline staff in Bangalore. #BreakTheChain,” tweeted Swiggy.
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal wrote, “In one of the largest efforts of its kind, we are facilitating a free and safe vaccination drive for more than 150,000 of our frontline staff and employees. Thousands of our delivery partners are already vaccinated.”
This gesture is least expected but it’s the need of the hour and both Swiggy and Zomato should be appreciated.
