World Test Championship is one of the much-awaited cricket matches in the recent past. India and New Zealand teams are all set to lock the horns but unfortunately, the cricket lovers are left with a big disappointment. The weather played a spoilsport on day 1 of the 5-day Test match. The match officials decided to cancel the match on the first day.

Just about a while ago, the umpires have decided to call off the game without a ball being bowled. Even the toss didn’t happen. Announcing the news, BCCI tweeted, “UPDATE – Unfortunately, play on Day 1 has been called off due to rains. 10.30 AM local time start (03.00 PM IST) tomorrow.”

ICC has already announced that there will be a reserve day for this big final test. Now, the reserve day may get used as the first day is washed out. The weather conditions look bleak even tomorrow and thus cricket fans are keeping their fingers crossed. India had already announced the playing XI of this game while New Zealand is expected to reveal it during the toss.

Team India Playing XI: Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (c), Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah.
