In yet another shocking development with growing coronavirus cases across the world, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin of Russia tested positive for the virus.
Mishustin confirmed his test results in a video conference with President Putin and nominated his deputy to take over as acting PM. Russia President Putin immediately signed a decree appointing Andrey Blousov as acting Prime Minister of the country.
Earlier, during his meeting of the government’s coordinating council for fighting the spread, Muhustin said he could not give an exact date of re-opening the Russian borders.
Russia already surpassed 100,000 positive cases by Thursday with the highest recorded 7,099 new infections on one day. More than 1073 have died so far in Russia with more than 2000 cases in the Military.
