Kona Venkat‘s Band Melam starring Court Couple – Harsh Roshan and Sridevi was supposed to release on March 13th. The movie was later postponed to March 18th when Toxic pulled off at the last minute. But since Ustaad Bhagat Singh is also coming, they deferred the release indefinitely.
Besides the lack of proper release date, the makers are also struggling to generate proper hype for the film.
The makers expected the film to generate curiosity and hype in the audience and the trade since the Court Combination is coming together once again. But somehow, it is not on expected lines.
Meanwhile, the lead pair actively participated in stage promotions and performed dances together to promote the film. Their offscreen chemistry generated some buzz online, but it did not translate into strong hype for the movie.
In fact, a section of netizens even trolled them saying they are going a bit overboard in the name of promotions by getting too close during events. However, the duo’s intention clearly seems to be creating attention and giving the film the buzz it currently lacks.
The gap in promotions due to the uncertainty over the release date is another headache. Unlike Court, which had the chartbuster Premalo that created huge buzz around the film, Band Melam does not have such a song. Hence, the makers will have to deliver a superb trailer to ignite interest in the movie.
This movie is very important for Producer Kona Venkat who is searching for a proper success as the writer as well as the Producer.
