When he decided to play character and villain roles, he stood as an inspiration to many actors who were struggling to reinvent themselves in the film industry. Now, Jagapathi Babu proudly announces his third innings.

In an exclusive conversation with Gulte pro’s Ram venkat as a part of Peddi promotions, Jagapathi Babu honestly admitted that he is looking at the third innings. When asked why, Jagapathi Babu sensibly said that he wants to transform into an actor like how Big B Amitabh did at some point. Even today, Amitabh Bachchan does films as a lead where the story is woven around his character.

It is, in fact, the best decision that Jagapathi Babu has taken in recent times. Jagapathi Babu played the rich father, arrogant villain and similar characters too many times already. There is no further freshness in the roles he is picking up, and there is nothing more that he can explore in the typical commercial films.

Interestingly, Jagapathi’s decision helps many budding and aspiring filmmakers, such as Subhash Chandra, who cast the actor in the film Godari Gattu Paina. The film was well received by audiences despite mixed talk, and his presence helped it a lot. The small films will benefit from his presence, even for pre-release biz or the OTT deals.

Staying relevant and finding a survival is the mantra of Jagapathi Babu over the decades and he is just upgrading himself from time to time, which itself is a healthy sign for the film industry and if more actors decide to follow the same, we could witness more content driven films in the coming days.
