Chandoo Mondeti To Direct Rana & Akshay With Bhansali’s Story!

Director Chandoo Mondeti gave Naga Chaitanya his career’s biggest hit with Thandel and earned the praise of many. He has now landed one of the biggest opportunities of his career as he is all set to make his Hindi debut as a director.

Chandoo will direct a new mythological drama reportedly titled Mahakaal, with Rana Daggubati and Akshay Kumar playing the lead roles. Interestingly, the film will have story and production by the legendary Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

Going into details, Bhansali was highly impressed with Chandoo Mondeti’s work in Karthikeya 2 and personally approached him for the project. With Bhansali already occupied with Love & War, he entrusted the directorial responsibilities to Chandoo.

We have come to know that most of the film’s shoot will take place in Varanasi. While the project will reportedly have a strong mythological backdrop, sources say it is not centered on any specific deity and will be made on a massive scale.

Yet another interesting aspect is that the original script has undergone several changes after Chandoo came on board. The director is said to have suggested a few ideas to suit the scale and vision of the film.

Though an official announcement is still awaited, the combination of Chandoo Mondeti, Sanjay Bhansali, Rana Daggubati, and Akshay Kumar has already generated significant curiosity among movie lovers. Stay tuned for more.
