Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away on Thursday after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence in Goa. He was reportedly found unconscious at home and was rushed to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention.
Patekar was declared dead at 5:20 AM. Doctors reportedly tried to revive him for nearly 45 minutes after he was brought to the hospital, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, confirmed that Nana Patekar could not be revived despite continuous CPR. A medico legal case has also been registered and a post mortem will be conducted.
Nana Patekar was one of the most respected actors in Indian cinema, known for his powerful performances in films like Parinda, Krantiveer, Ab Tak Chhappan and Welcome. His career spanned several decades across Hindi and Marathi cinema.
The sudden demise of the legendary actor has left the film industry and his fans in deep shock. Nana Patekar will always be remembered for his unforgettable performances and immense contribution to Indian cinema. May his soul rest in peace.
