Player Picks IPL, Pakistan Sends Legal Notice

It is an established fact that the Indian Premier League is the richest and most influential cricketing tournament in the world. The kind of revenue that is generated here and the payout that is given to players is beyond any other league globally.

So any player who gets the opportunity to play in the IPL would take it with open hands. The same happened with South African player, Corbin Bosch who readily joined Mumbai Indians as a replacement player.

However, the issue is here is that South African pace bowler was earlier in a contract with Pakistan Super League which is Pakistan’s equivalent of IPL. He had signed with Peshawar franchise to take part in the upcoming edition of PSL, which is coincidentally starting at almost same time as IPL this year.

Incidentally, when Mumbai Indians approached him with the proposal, he left PSL and happily joined IPL. This has anguished Pakistan cricket board, and they have now sent a notice to the talented pace bowler.

The PCB has issued a legal notice to South Africa’s Corbin Bosch for allegedly breaching his PSL contract. The Peshawar Zalmi all-rounder withdrew from his commitments despite being picked in the Diamond category during the HBL PSL 10 draft. Pakistan board is now seeking an explanation on this matter.

This is one of the first times that Pakistan has sent a legal notice to a player who has offered to play IPL over PSL. But in financial terms, this is a very calculated and expected decision.
