‘Postmortem On Brahmotsavam Is Unnecessary Now’

Having made his debut with Kotha Bangaru Lokam, director Srikanth Addala made a name for himself in the industry. With his second film, he surprised everyone by delivering a blockbuster Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, with Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu. The film’s success resulted in a second project with Mahesh Babu. Titled Brahmotsavam, the film was released in 2016 and ended as a big flop.

The Brahmotsavam director finally opened up on the film’s failure during the promotions of the film Narappa. After the failure of Brahmotsavam, offers dried up for the director. The result of Mahesh Babu starrer left a huge impact on the director’s career.

Srikanth Addala feels that the postmortem on the film at this moment is unnecessary. However, he admits that the film is a failure. “A bad script always results in failure. We begin a film with an intention but sometimes, we may not execute the same. The same happened with Brahmotsavam. It’s been 5 years since the film was released and there is no point in talking about it. We have to move ahead,” revealed the director, adding, “I wasted a golden chance with Mahesh Babu.”

Srikanth Addala’s selection for Narappa came as a big shock to the audiences. No one expected that Srikanth would be the right choice for Venkatesh’s Narappa. Narappa is the official remake of the Tamil hit film Asuran. The film is filled with action, violence, and blood, unlike Srikanth’s earlier films.

On the other hand, the director’s next film is in Geetha Arts. Srikanth is also planning to become a producer by floating ‘Srikanth Creations’.
