When Rajamouli Refused To Direct Salman Khan

Bajrangi Bhaijaan is one of the successful films in Salman Khan’s career. If not for Vijayendra Prasad’s story, the film would not have received such a great response at the box office. The human emotion in the film is elevated properly by the director Kabir Khan. But, Vijayendra Prasad initially wanted Rajamouli to direct the film but the Baahubali director missed the chance.

In a recent interview, Vijayendra Prasad revealed an interesting incident about the film with Rajamouli.

The star writer narrated the story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan to Rajamouli when they were shooting for Baahubali. After listening to the story, Rajamouli refused to direct the film. Later, Vijayendra Prasad approached Kabir Khan and the rest is history.

However, Rajamouli regrets not accepting the offer to direct the film. Vijayendra Prasad blames himself for the same.

Vijayendra Prasad mentioned that he chose the wrong time to narrate the story and put his proposal forward. “When he (Rajamouli) was filming the war sequences, I narrated him the story. It was peak time for us and Rajamouli was fully focused on the shoot. I should have picked a proper time to narrate the story,” revealed the writer.

Vijayendra Prasad shared that the Bajrangi Bhaijaan sequel is on cards and Salman Khan has given a green signal for the same.

What remains a question mark is if Rajamouli expresses interest to direct the film’s sequel?
