Pragya Jaiswal shot to fame with the 2015 drama Kanche. Though the film was a success, it couldn’t boost her career. Later, the actress was seen in many notable films but most of them have ended up as failures at the box office.
The Nakshatram girl is now working for the film Akhanda, which is being directed by Boyapati Srinu and features Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead role. She is pinning a lot of hopes on this anticipated project.
The 30-year-old actress says that women are often given strong roles in Boyapati’s films. Her role in Akhanda is one such character. Pragya also added that the director showcases heroines beautifully on the screen.
Talking to the Times of India in a recent interview, Pragya said, “My character is not just a pretty prop who comes in one or two songs and a few scenes here and there. It’s a very strong and powerful role.”
“There are some films where it doesn’t matter if you’re there in it or not, but this isn’t one of those. I contribute to taking the storyline forward, and there’s a lot for the girl to do,” she further added.
Akhanda is in the last leg of its shoot. The release details of the film will be announced soon.
