It is almost confirmed that ‘Tuck Jagadish’ will be heading for an OTT release. Hero Nani has tried his best to convince his producers but his attempts were in vain. He bowed down to the stakeholders pressure but the streaming date of ‘Tuck Jagadish’ was not confirmed by the producers. Buzz is that the film will get a digital release on September 10th for Vinayaka Chavithi.
The Telangana Film Chamber and Cine Theatres Association met today and discussed the OTT releases row. They objected to the release of ‘Tuck Jagadish.’ Suniel Narang who owns majority of theatres in Nizam region and also the producer of ‘Love Story’ has expressed his serious displeasure.
Suniel also made strong comments on Nani for leaving the decision to producers on the release as ‘Love Story’ is also releasing on the same date which might impact on the collections of the film. However, Nani was always against OTT release and his speech at ‘Thimmarusu’ pre-release event was the best example.
Yet the Telangana Film Chamber and theatres association criticised Nani and they appealed to all the producers to wait till October 2021 and if the situation doesn’t normalise/improve, the producers can take their individual call on OTT or theatre release.
Despite this appeal if producers opt for OTT release, the Telangana cine exhibitors are likely to come up with an action plan.
