Bell Bottom Pushed KGF: Chapter 2 To Next Year

One of the most-anticipated films in Indian Cinema, KGF Chapter:2 was originally supposed to release on July 16. But the second wave of the coronavirus and the subsequent lockdown has ruined all the plans. As the theatres slowly started reopening across the country, fans started waiting for the makers to announce the new release date.

Finally, the team announced that the film will hit the screens on April 14th, 2022. Everyone was stunned by the new release date. It was expected that the movie may hit the screens either during Dussera or Christmas. But it is postponed for more than six months.

According to the sources, Akshay Kumar’s Bell Bottom is the primary reason for KGF’s delay. Bell Bottom opted for a theatrical release even though it got lucrative OTT offers. However, the plan didn’t work well as it managed to collect only Rs.12.65 crores on the opening weekend.

Apparently, the makers of KGF realized that the audiences are not yet ready to step into theatres as of now and decided that it is better to release it when the situation normalizes across the country. That is the reason why they have chosen to take a long gap for the release.

Salaar, which is scheduled for release on April 14th, 2022 may now hit the screens either during Dussera or the Christmas weekend of 2022.
