Nayanthara Signs Gold With Premam Director

Lady Superstar Nayanthara is busy with a series of projects in the pipeline. She is currently acting in multiple films in both the Tamil and Malayalam film industries. The latest addition to her filmography is the Malayalam flick Gold, which will be directed by Alphonse Puthren of Premam fame.

Gold will feature Prithviraj Sukumaran as the lead hero. He is also co-producing the film under his banner Prithviraj Productions. Magic Frames is another production house that is bankrolling the project.

The regular shooting of this flick will start in mid-September.

Tamil actor Ajmal Ameer is also playing a key role in the film. Speaking about it in a recent social media interaction, Ajmal said that Gold will be on the lines of Alphonse’s earlier film Neram.

Last year, Alphonse Puthren announced the musical film Paattu with Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara. But that film is kept aside for some unknown reasons and the director decided to make Gold without wasting any time.

This will be Nayan’s first film with Puthren. The actress was recently seen in Netrikann, which had a direct release on Disney+Hotstar. She will be next seen in movies like Annaatthe and Kathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal.
