Almost all the leading OTT platforms are planning to bring exclusive Telugu content from now on and they want to make sure that more Telugu audiences will subscribe to their respective platforms. With Amazon’s Prime Video and Netflix dominating the show, already Telugu OTT Aha got Allu Arjun and Vijay Devarakonda to promote their app. And now, big players are also doing the same it looks like.
None other than Mega hero Ram Charan is getting ready to join as the brand ambassador of Disney+Hotstar Telugu version if reports are to be believed. The RRR fame is said to be charging nearly ₹ 3 crores as his pay package to represent Hotstar in a couple of video ads and print ads. While the deal might last long for a year, Hotstar is expecting that Charan’s presence as their face in Telugu lands will attract millions of subscribers to join the family.
Also, Hotstar is right now focusing on carving out many Telugu originals, including Telugu web series and films too. And with the addition of Charan as a brand ambassador at a time when RRR is releasing, surely that will be a clever marketing move to attract more crowds towards the OTT. Let’s see how it works out for the global digital content giant.
