Buzz: Bigg Boss Telugu to get an OTT version soon

Bigg Boss Telugu season 5 is currently underway. King Nagarjuna is hosting the show, which successfully completed two weeks of its run. The launch episode also got a good TRP rating, proving the show’s supremacy among the other Telugu shows.

Meanwhile, it is being heard that Bigg Boss Telugu is all set to get its maiden OTT version soon. The ongoing Bigg Boss season 5 will conclude in the last week of this year. Apparently, the makers are planning to launch the OTT version in February next year.

This OTT version will run for six weeks and will feature popular celebrities from various professions. One of the finalists of the OTT version will get a direct entry into the television version, i.e. Bigg Boss season 6. As per the reports, Bigg Boss Telugu season 6 will start in June or July next year.

With the introduction of the OTT version, fans will stay connected with the show for a longer time, which means more revenue, more entertainment and more popularity for the series.

Moreover, the entry of OTT contestants into the television version, makes things more interesting. Most probably, the OTT version will be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.

The same formula was successfully implemented in Hindi. Bigg Boss Hindi OTT version was started in August and concluded last night. Divya Agarwal emerged as the winner of the OTT version and bagged prize money of Rs. 25 lakhs. Karan Johar hosted this OTT version while Salman will remain the host of the television version.

It has to be seen if Nagarjuna hosts the OTT version as well in Telugu or the makers will sign another celebrity for it.
