Star kids get an easy entry into films but they come with heavy baggage. There are a lot of expectations around their every film and they need to prove themselves every time to achieve stardom like their predecessors in the family.
Actor Naga Chaitanya tells the same and adds that star kids need to come up with varied content as per their generation in order to carve a niche for themselves.
In an interview with the Film Companion, Chay said, “Some people tell me that you have to do mass films while some others suggest you to do class films. They also advise me that I have a fan base and I have to cater to those fans.”
“Yes, I am very fortunate to have this fan base. But when I look back to my father’s or grandfather’s careers, what brought them a huge fan base is their choice of films. They did movies that were fresh during those times. They have set a trend with different kinds of films.”
“They were honest to that time and they were path-breaking in their story selections. That’s what created a huge fan base for them. Thus, I shouldn’t be doing typical films to cater for fans. I should offer them fresh stories. If I do that, they are going to be with me for a longer time and I can also get a better fan base in the following years,” he further added.
Naga Chaitanya is currently awaiting the release of his next film Love Story, which is all set to hit the screens this Friday. Directed by Shekhar Kammula, this movie features Sai Pallavi as the female lead.
