With a handful of big budget projects in Tollywood, Kollywood and even Bollywood, Dil Raju is currently the man of the moment. While Dil Raju is already bankrolling star Tamil director Shankar’s pan-India film with Ram Charan, he recently announced yet another biggie with Kollywood star Vijay and Tollywood director Vamshi Paidipally.
Incidentally, neither Shankar nor Vamshi Paidipally have been in the best of their form for the last few years. Shankar’s last 3 movies – Vijay’s Nanban, Vikram’s I and Rajinikanth’s 2.0, though made a lot of noise upon their release, failed to set the box office on fire eventually.
On the other hand, Vamshi Paidipally’s previous movies like Maharshi, Oopiri and Yevadu too didn’t set the cash registers ringing bigtime although they received several top awards. In this scenario, Dil Raju mounting two lavish projects with both these directors seem to be a risky proposition.
Dil Raju is shelling out a whopping Rs 170 plus crore into the making of Shankar-Ram Charan project. On the other hand, the Vijay-starrer too will cost him almost the same budget, as Vijay’s remuneration alone will in Rs 80 to 100 crore range.
Not stopping here, Dil Raju is also planning a pan-India biggie with Prabhas and KGF helmer Prashanth Neel. Well, it looks like Dil Raju is certainly enjoying playing with fire and taking such big risks. Whether or not he will manage to come out with flying colours in the end remains to be seen.
