The violence that is observed in the ongoing Andhra Pradesh local body election has been too much to process and the latest developments are suggesting that certain situations have come back to haunt the YCP leadership.
YSR Congress, MP and Jagan’s closest associate Mithun Reddy has been delivered brutal shock by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. His attempt to secure protection from imminent arrest in connection with the violence in Punganur constituency during the recent Local body nomination has been rejected by the High Court.
Mithun Reddy argued that a total of four cases were filed against him in connection with the same incident regarding the inflicting of violence against TDP in Punganur during the local polls. He went to say that it is against the law to file as many cases regarding one single incident.
Along with that, Mithun Reddy applied for anticipatory bail in this case, as he saw protection from getting arrested by the police.
However, the public prosecutor pointed out that more than 30 people were injured in this violent series of events involving the YSR Congress MP and the court made note of the same.
It was collectively pointed out by the Andhra Pradesh High Court that certain legal proceedings need to happen in order to maintain law and order. Subsequently, the court denied the protection petition that was filed by the YCP MP.
Mithun Reddy will now have to deal with an electoral case, which is extremely dangerous in nature as consequences can follow at any given point in time.
