‘Those two hours changed everything’

Director Vamshi Paidipally announced a big project with Thalapathy Vijay a few days back. This much-anticipated movie will be bankrolled by Dil Raju. Vamshi said that the project was confirmed earlier this year but they had to hold it in order to announce the news at the right time.

This pan-India project is expected to hit the floors in March next year after Vijay finishes his ongoing project Beast.

Speaking in an interview, Vamshi said that he was unsure how Vijay would react after listening to the script. “When I met Vijay sir for the first time, even I didn’t know how it would turn out. I’ve been an admirer of his work and I just wanted to meet him. But he said okay in the first narration itself and those two hours transformed everything. Maybe it’s destiny that the two of us are working together,” said Vamshi.

The Maharshi director said that the movie will be shot predominantly in Tamil. He stated that he will be comfortable shooting in any language as he has experience in shooting a bi-lingual film (Oopiri/Thozha) in the past.

“We’ve waited a long time to make this announcement. We were supposed to announce this film in April or May but had to hold it back after the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. We felt that such an announcement should be made in happier times. I’m delighted to share that I will be teaming up with Vijay sir for this exciting project,” Vamshi further added.
