Industry Talk: Mahesh Babu’s story in Prabhas’ hands

Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is going to direct his next film in Telugu with Prabhas in the lead role. Titled Spirit, the film marks the milestone 25th movie in Prabhas’ career and it will be the third film for Vanga and the second one in Telugu. The buzz is that Sandeep Reddy will take the film on floors only after wrapping up Animal with Ranbir Kapoor.

The official announcement of the film has come up this morning and it opened to a positive buzz. Sandeep Reddy Vanga reportedly penned a strong character that will change the image of Prabhas in the cinema industry. Meanwhile, there are speculations that the story was initially narrated to Superstar Mahesh Babu.

Post the success of Arjun Reddy, Vanga was supposed to direct Mahesh Babu. Sandeep used to meet Mahesh Babu frequently and also attended the parties at his home. Both discussed multiple subjects and even finalized an idea.

On the occasion of Mahesh Babu’s birthday, Sandeep Vanga participated in a Twitter Spaces session organized by the fans. Sandeep confirmed that he will work with Mahesh Babu in the nearer future. Talking about the project in their combination, Sandeep said that he already narrated a subject to Mahesh but he did not like it. Sandeep told the fans that he is going to meet Mahesh again with a new subject.

Now, the industry talk suggests that Sandeep Vanga made changes to the subject he initially narrated to Mahesh and approached Prabhas. Vanga reportedly rewrote the protagonist’s characterization to match Prabhas’ body language and style.

T-Series that collaborated with Prabhas for Saaho and Radhe Shyam wants to do a film with the actor for a long time. They were also associated with Sandeep during the time of Kabir Singh. After liking Sandeep’s story, the production house immediately decided to make it with Prabhas.

But, there is no official confirmation that the story of Spirit was initially pitched to Mahesh Babu.
