Superstar Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe had hit the screens this Thursday on the occasion of Diwali. Directed by Siva, this movie had a thumping opening across Tamil Nadu. It managed to collect a gross of more than Rs. 46 crores at the box office.
However, it garnered negative reviews from both the critics as well as the audiences. The festive release advantage worked well for Annaatthe in getting massive openings.
Generally, Diwali is a big festive weekend for the Tamil film industry. Rajini’s stardom further helped in gaining a huge buzz among the viewers.
Despite getting massive openings, Annaatthe may end up as a flop at the box office. Meanwhile, it is being heard that Rajini has given Siva another directorial offer even after giving him a critical failure in the form of Annaatthe.
Apparently, Rajini liked Siva’s working style and offered another film for him. It seems that Sun Pictures, who bankrolled Annaatthe, will also produce this movie. More details about it are expected to be announced soon.
Rajini has a habit of working with directors on multiple projects irrespective of the results they give him. Earlier, he had given Pa. Ranjith a chance of making Kaala, even after scoring a flop with Kabali.
