Janhvi’s New South Interview Triggers Damage Control Trolls

Janhvi Kapoor after her Peddi controversy is once again facing criticism on social media. This time her recent Tamil interview has become a topic of discussion among movie lovers. Interestingly, this backlash comes just days after her comments about South Indian cinema created controversy.

During her appearance on Koffee With Karan, Janhvi spoke about the working style of South Indian film industries while discussing Ram Charan’s film Peddi. She said that South Indian filmmakers do not have bound scripts and even camera angles are not fixed in advance.

These comments did not go well with Telugu audiences. Many people from across South India also criticised her remarks. Several movie lovers felt that she made unfair comments about the working style of directors.

Now her latest Tamil interview has started another discussion. Janhvi appeared in the interview with her aunt Maheswari. During the conversation Maheswari asked her about the latest Tamil film she had watched.

Janhvi struggled to recall the title at first. She mentioned few details about the film Blast and Maheswari helped her identify the film. Janhvi then said that she had recently watched Blast which features Preity Mukhundhan.

She also spoke about her interest in Tamil cinema. Janhvi said that she had watched Thalapathy Vijay’s films like Pokkiri. She also praised director Vetrimaaran and said that she likes his films.

Janhvi also spoke about the films remade by her father Boney Kapoor. She mentioned that she watches many films that her father remade. She specifically recalled Bommarillu featuring Siddharth and Genelia. She also spoke about watching other remakes produced by her father.

However her comments have triggered a different kind of reaction online. Some movie lovers are questioning why she is praising South Indian films now after making controversial comments about the industry.

A section of social media users feels that Janhvi is trying to improve her image among South Indian audiences by this interview and to cover her mistake. Some have even called her latest interview a damage control attempt.
