AP Govt Showing Real Cinema To Theatre Owners!

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has recently stated that the government should not involve in the movie ticket pricing issues. Moments the theatre owners and producers felt happy about this decision, they are now facing new troubles with the government.

The revenue department has been conducting surprise raids on theatres for the last couple of days and is giving sleepless nights to the theatre owners.

The officials have made inspections in several areas like Guntur, Chittoor, East Godavari and Nellore. They have been checking the theatres in the aspects of the number of shows that are being screened every day, price of each ticket, maintenance of toilets, prices at the canteen and quality of the food items that are being sold, and parking charges.

They are also checking whether the maintenance is regular or not. The officials are also inspecting whether there are CC cameras in the theatre premises and the electricity bills are being paid at the right time.

These are not the rules which are implemented overnight. These are included in the Cinematography Act years ago. But all these days, the officials have never checked the theatres and they are doing it now.

The revenue department is collecting all the data and sending it to the Joint Collectors. Later, the joint collectors are compiling all the reports of the district and are submitting them to the government. It has to be seen what government will do to the theatres that are overriding the rules. On the whole, this surprise raids have turned a new headache for the theatre owners.
