The other day at ‘Pushpa’ release event, music composer Devi Sri Prasad made strange comments on item songs. For him, item songs are like devotional songs and they are a kind of meditation exercise too. DSP even changed the lyrics of the songs ‘Ringa Ringa’ and ‘O Antava Oo Antava.’
DSP’s remarks raked up a controversy and Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh raised objections and condemned the comments. “How can Devi Sri Prasad compare devotional songs with item songs? It’s seriously unnecessary of DSP to make such demeaning comments against Hindu devotional songs and slogans. Our sentiments have been hurt and so I demand an unconditional apology from Devi Sri Prasad,” said Raja Singh.
The BJP MLA also warned that Devi Sri Prasad will face the heat of Hindu community and will not let him roam freely in Telangana. “If DSP doesn’t issue an apology, we will welcome him with slippers,” threatened Raja Singh.
Generally DSP stays away and avoids controversies. He is yet to react on the BJP MLA’s warning and hope he comes out and explains what really led him to comment so at the event.
