Baahubali Producer’s Advice To AP Govt

The ticket pricing row between the Telugu film industry and AP government gives an impression that it is a never ending episode. This morning hero Nani’s comments, finding fault with the AP government on ticket prices, created a huge storm. YCP minister Botsa and producer Natti Kumar reacted to Nani’s comments and added that the film industry can approach the state government and resolve the matter.

‘Baahubali’ producer Shobu Yarlagadda listed out a few suggestions to deal with this issue and they can be given a thought, if the AP government is open to at least consider them.

“Maximum Retail Price (MRP) (unless it is an essential commodity) is decided by the producers/manufacturers of packaged goods not the government. Just saying! If AP Government, wants to maximize tax collection from movies, it should 1. Mandate 100% computerization of ticket sales in all theaters, 2. Automatic & real-time updating of ticket sales. 3. Free & variable pricing of movie tickets (free market will decide the right price),” tweeted Shobu.

Justifying his suggestions, Shobu opined that it might work both in the favour of exhibitors and the state government. “This will be a win-win situation, that will benefit the exhibition sector, film industry and the Government!,” added Shobu in the last tweet of the series.

Before that the ‘Baahubali’ producer completely agreed with Nani’s comments and added that lower ticket prices will have a long term severe impact on the exhibitors and many lives connected with it could be affected. Shobu really wished that the issue finds a solution at the earliest.
