Siddharth’s Befitting Counter To AP Ministers

Ever since actor Nani has outspoken his view about the ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh and lamented that the government’s decision to reduce ticket prices is nothing but an insult to audiences, there has been a strong protest from AP state government and its supporters. After producer Natti Kumar, AP Ministers Botsa Satyanarayana and Anil Kumar Yadav have given counters to Nani. Minister Anil Kumar went ahead and demanded that the remunerations of actors should be cut down.

Siddharth has joined Nani in this fight between AP state government and theaters. Sid has taken a stand in Nani’s support. Siddharth wrote, “How bout reducing the size and amenities of stadiums and reducing the cost of staging cricket matches… Pass on the discount to the customer… question cricketer salaries. They have talent. Actors have what? Entertainment is entertainment. Why this hatred for our industry?”

“People who try to build hotels should only be allowed to build lodges to keep costs down? And then sell food at canteen rates? The exhibitor charges what will recover his investment. Different hotels cater to different people. One can’t demand accommodation they can’t afford. And we deal with piracy… Do hotels risk people enjoying their rooms in the privacy of their homes? Nope. Cinema has been relegated to gambling by the tax slabs and govt attitude. Why don’t you raise the cost of liquor and cigarettes? They harm people. We entertain them,” Sid added.

Siddharth has certainly raised all valid points and put up his argument well. Now, it needs to be seen what ruling party leaders have to say. It’s high time, the bigwigs of Tollywood should step-in as the war of words intensifies. Tollywood’s leading stars and prominent personalities remain silent in this controversial topic.
