Forget Amitabh & Aamir, Here’s Prabhas & Allu Arjun

Gone are the days where Bollywood heroes are considered to be the pan-Indian heroes and even Telugu audience used to gaga over the arrival of an Amitabh Bachhan or Shahrukh to Hyderabad. The same was opined other day by veteran actor and director, Rebel Star R Narayana Murthy. The senior star voiced his opinion quite strongly, at the success meet of Nani’s Shyam Singha Roy movie.

“Back then, the dialogues said by Amitabh in movies like Sholay and Deewar are super hit liners across India. Even Rajnikanth’s dialogues from the Basha movie are also a similar hit. But now, thanks to Allu Arjun, the dialogue ‘Taggedhele’ became a super hit across the world”, said R Narayana Murthy. Before that, he stressed out how two heroes from the Telugu industry became big stars in the country.

“When the likes of Amitabh and Amir Khan landed in Hyderabad, even the media and audiences used to rush after them. Gone are those day as Telugu heroes became pan-India stars now. While Prabhas is getting a rousing reception in Mumbai with the whole country wanting to see his movies, Allu Arjun’s craze also went enormous. I’m surprised when few Malayalm people told me in Kerala that their great actors are none other than Mohan Lal, Mammootty and Allu Arjun” said Murthy. He saluted both Prabhas and Allu Arjun for bringing such stature to Telugu cinema.

Later, Murthy felt sad about the things that are worrying Tollywood now. “It’s paining that many film theatres in Andhra Pradesh are getting closed due to the bad decision of the government. The Industry will survive only if there is a maker, exhibitor and an audience. Film Chamber and biggies like Dil Raju, Allu Arvind, Suresh Babu, Chiranjeevi, Nani along with theatre owners should meet the government, be positive with the government, meet YS Jagan and get the issue resolved to reopen theatres”, Murthy added.
