While the fresh wave of Corona cases are shaking up the film industry as governments are opting for lockdowns and curfews, two films that are defying all the exceptions of film trade pundits are none other than Allu Arjun’s Pushpa and Balakrishna’s Akhanda.
Going by the word from trade circles, Akhanda had a blast in B and C centers on Saturday and Sunday where most of the theaters registered housefuls. Despite the fact that the film already made stupendous collections, still, weekends are witnessing massive footfalls for the movie thus making it the biggest of Balayya’s career. The film’s collection touched 80+ crores share already.
Coming to Pushpa, one of the biggest shockers given by this Allu Arjun starrer is how it is reaping benefits from Bollywood. With terrific and highest single-day collection on Jan 1st, the film is now close to 57 crores gross in bollywood, while initially it was estimated that the film will settle down at a maximum of 25+ crores.
And trade pundits are now estimating that the film might collect ₹ 75 crores gross in its run only from the Hindi sector alone. Guess what, this will catapult Pushpa into the 300 cr club as well thus making it India’s biggest grosser of 2021, beating Suryavanshi.
Surely these two Telugu films have released with lots of mixed talk and the way they are performing at the box office is not even close to the talk around them on the release day.
